INVACARE 5410LOW XL FULL-ELECTRIC HI-LOW EXTRA-LONG HOSPITAL BED PACKAGE SAFER FOR TALL FALL-RISK PATIENTS The Invacare 5410LOW XL Full-Electric Hi-Low Extra-Long Hospital Bed is the rare combination bed for patients who are both tall AND at real risk of falling out of bed Alzheimer's, dementia, seizure disorders, stroke recovery, or any condition where a tall patient may try to get up unassisted. It combines the hi-low frame drops to just 9. 5" from the floor to reduce fall injury with the XL 84" sleep surface fits patients up to 6'6", even 6'7" with snug fit. Neither the standard 5410 LOW only 80" long nor the standard 5410 XL drops only to 15" handles this combination you'd have to compromise on either length or fall protection. This bed doesn't ask you to compromise. Complete package includes the XL LOW frame, a Home Care economy foam mattress, and three-position bed assist rails at a bundled price. Same full-electric conveniences as the rest of the 5410 family head, foot, and height all adjust with a hand pendant. PACKAGE BREAKDOWN Everything you get in the box 3 essential pieces 1. Full-Electric Hi-Low Extra-Long Bed Frame Invacare 5410LOW-XLThe heart of the package this is the same trusted 5410 full-electric frame Invacare has used in homecare for years, with two customizations that make it right for tall fall-risk patients 1 low bed ends that drop the height range from the standard 15"23" down to 9. 5"20" to minimize fall injury, and 2 an extra-long 84" sleep deck instead of the standard 80" to fit patients up to 6'6". That extra 5. 5" of drop at the low position reduces fall injury the extra 4" of length prevents heel pressure sores and footboard contact during extended bed rest for tall patients. Same drive shaft, same motors, same pendant, same manual crank backup for power outages. Full-electric means the head, foot, and vertical bed height all adjust via a simple hand pendant. Sleep surface is 36" wide 84" long. 2. Home Care Economy Mattress included most customers upgrade thisThe included mattress is an XL economy foam mattress 36" 84" 6" 84" long to match the XL frame with a wipe-clean waterproof cover meets 16CFR1632 and 16CFR1633 flammability standards. It works, but honestly, most of our customers upgrade to a therapeutic foam or deluxe pressure-relief mattress when they order especially for patients spending most of the day in bed, or anyone at risk of pressure sores. Use the $75 upgrade credit below toward a premium mattress, or add an alternating pressure mattress overlay. If you're not sure which mattress fits your situation, call us we'll walk you through the options. 3. Three-Position Bed Assist Rails includedTwo Three-Position swivel Bed Assist Rails not traditional full-length side rails. These mount to the head of the bed and can be positioned three ways upright fall prevention barrier, horizontal transfer assist handle, or swiveled backward toward the headboard out of the way for exit. This design is what makes them ideal for a hi-low bed they don't block bed exit even when the bed is at its lowest 9. 5" position, unlike traditional full-length rails that need the bed raised to swing down. The patient can grip them to sit up, stand up, or reposition safely. Configuration Option Prefer Full-Length Rails Instead This bed comes with Three-Position swivel Bed Assist Rails by default they swivel backward to let the patient exit even when the bed is at its lowest 9. 5" position. If you'd prefer traditional full-length side rails that run the entire length of the bed for full-perimeter fall prevention, we can swap them at order time. Important tradeoff full-length rails must be lowered for the patient to exit, which requires the bed to first be raised to give the rails room to drop. On a hi-low bed, that partly defeats the low-height benefit which is why the swivel rails are our default recommendation. Call 713 695-4939 to discuss rail configuration Mattress Upgrade Credit $75 Credit Available The included Home Care mattress works great for most patients but if pressure sores, long-term bed use, or serious skin protection are concerns, you'll want to upgrade. Call 713 695-4939 to schedule a showroom visit WHY THE INVACARE 5410 LOW XL IS THE ONLY CHOICE FOR TALL PATIENTS AT FALL RISK WHY CUSTOMERS CHOOSE IT Real benefits you'll feel daily from day one Full-electric no cranking, everSemi-electric beds still require a hand crank to adjust bed height, which is exhausting for a caregiver and impossible for many patients to do alone. The 5410 LOW adjusts everything with the push of a button head, foot, and bed height. That's the biggest daily-quality-of-life difference between this and cheaper beds. Trusted Invacare qualityInvacare has been building homecare beds for decades. This bed comes with Invacare's standard homecare warranty coverage that's Invacare's way of saying they stand behind the build. It's also FDA-cleared and meets UL962 and CSA safety certifications. Full package nothing else to buy to get startedSome listings show you a frame price, then hit you with mattress and rail add-ons at checkout. This package includes everything you need to sleep in the bed on day one frame, mattress, and three-position assist rails. Upgrades are optional, not required. Bed height that saves caregiver backsThe bed adjusts from 9. 5" ultra-low to 20" moderate high. The ultra-low position is what makes this hi-low bed unique low enough that falls become far less injurious. The high position 20" is a bit lower than the standard 5410IVC's 23", so caregiver-friendly work like sheet changes and bathing isn't quite as ergonomic but for fall-risk patients, that tradeoff is worth it. Manual crank backup for power outagesEvery function on the bed has a manual crank backup if the power goes out. Storms, blown fuses, electrical issues you can still adjust the bed to a safe position. This is a critical safety feature that many cheaper beds don't include. Interchangeable, washable bed endsThe head and foot panels are interchangeable and can be washed with standard water pressure. Easy to keep clean, easy to replace if damaged, and reduces long-term ownership costs. This is why hospitals and long-term care facilities prefer Invacare. Easy tool-free assemblyBed sections snap together without tools. Our White Glove Delivery team assembles it in your home in about 30 minutes and demos it before we leave you don't have to figure anything out. KEY FEATURES The features that change daily care every one earns its keep The FeatureWhat it really means for you 6-button hand pendant control Head up/down, foot up/down, height up/down Everything the patient or caregiver needs, right at hand. No fumbling with cranks or side controls just simple, intuitive buttons anyone can use. 9. 5" to 20" hi-low adjustment Motorized floor-to-deck lift range Low position makes patient transfers safer less distance to fall from. High position saves the caregiver's back during bathing, sheet changes, and wound care. This adjustability is the single biggest reason to buy full-electric over semi-electric. Manual crank backup Works during power outages If the power goes out, you're not stuck. Every motorized function has a mechanical override you can still safely reposition the patient. Cheaper beds skip this and leave you helpless in an outage. Washable, interchangeable bed ends Clean with standard water pressure Head and foot panels are washable and swap easily. Long-term homecare gets messy sometimes this design makes daily hygiene simple and reduces long-term costs. Three-Position swivel assist rails included Fall prevention transfer handle works at low bed heights Rails serve two purposes they prevent accidental falls, and they give patients a solid handhold for repositioning. Fold down when not needed. Half rails available as a swap option. UL962 & CSA safety certified Meets clinical safety standards Same certifications hospitals require. If you or a loved one is discharged from a hospital and needs a bed at home, this is the same class of equipment they were sleeping in. Color-coded junction box Simple maintenance and repair All electrical connections are color-coded so if a cable ever needs replacing or troubleshooting, it's obvious what goes where. Reduces service calls and downtime. White Glove Delivery available Full setup in your home Our team delivers to the room of your choice, assembles the bed, installs the mattress and rails, and demos how everything works before we leave. You don't lift a wrench. QUESTIONS / CONSULTATION Not sure if a full-electric bed is right for the situation Pick up the phone and call us at 713 695-4939. We'll talk through the patient's mobility, the caregiver's needs, and your budget and help you pick between full-electric, semi-electric, or a bariatric option. No bots, no scripts, no pressure just straight talk from people who set these beds up every day. OTHER THINGS TO KNOW...- Typically our hi-low hospital beds will go as low as 9.5 inches off the floor (measured from the floor to the hospital bed frame). Keep in mind that the mattress thickness will add a few more inches (about an extra 6 inches to the height), depending on the mattress type.
- An extra-long 84-inch hospital bed is typically designed for taller individuals. The bed frame is 84 inches long (7 feet), which comfortably accommodates individuals who are up to around 6'6" or even 6'7" tall. People taller than this may find it a bit cramped, depending on their body proportions.
WE ARE HERE TO HELP YOU OR YOUR LOVED ONE BE MORE COMFORTABLE AT HOME!

(3 essential pieces)1. Full-Electric Hi-Low Extra-Long Bed Frame (Invacare 5410LOW-XL):The heart of the package — this is the same trusted 5410 full-electric frame Invacare has used in homecare for years, with two customizations that make it right for tall fall-risk patients: (1) low bed ends that drop the height range from the standard 15"–23" down to 9.5"–20" (to minimize fall injury), and (2) an extra-long 84" sleep deck instead of the standard 80" (to fit patients up to 6'6"). If you're not sure which mattress fits your situation, call us — we'll walk you through the options.3. Three-Position Bed Assist Rails (included):Two Three-Position (swivel) Bed Assist Rails — not traditional full-length side rails. These mount to the head of the bed and can be positioned three ways: upright (fall prevention barrier), horizontal (transfer assist handle), or swiveled backward toward the headboard (out of the way for exit). This design is what makes them ideal for a hi-low bed — they don't block bed exit even when the bed is at its lowest 9.5" position, unlike traditional full-length rails that need the bed raised to swing down. The patient can grip them to sit up, stand up, or reposition safely.Configuration Option Prefer Full-Length Rails Instead? This bed comes with Three-Position (swivel) Bed Assist Rails by default — they swivel backward to let the patient exit even when the bed is at its lowest 9.5" position. If you'd prefer traditional full-length side rails (that run the entire length of the bed for full-perimeter fall prevention), we can swap them at order time. Important tradeoff: full-length rails must be lowered for the patient to exit, which requires the bed to first be raised to give the rails room to drop. (from day one)Full-electric — no cranking, ever:Semi-electric beds still require a hand crank to adjust bed height, which is exhausting for a caregiver and impossible for many patients to do alone. The 5410 LOW adjusts everything with the push of a button — head, foot, and bed height. That's the biggest daily-quality-of-life difference between this and cheaper beds.Trusted Invacare quality:Invacare has been building homecare beds for decades. This bed comes with Invacare's standard homecare warranty coverage — that's Invacare's way of saying they stand behind the build. It's also FDA-cleared and meets UL962 and CSA safety certifications.Full package — nothing else to buy to get started:Some listings show you a frame price, then hit you with mattress and rail add-ons at checkout. This package includes everything you need to sleep in the bed on day one — frame, mattress, and three-position assist rails. Upgrades are optional, not required.Bed height that saves caregiver backs:The bed adjusts from 9.5" (ultra-low) to 20" (moderate high). The ultra-low position is what makes this hi-low bed unique — low enough that falls become far less injurious. The high position (20") is a bit lower than the standard 5410IVC's 23", so caregiver-friendly work like sheet changes and bathing isn't quite as ergonomic — but for fall-risk patients, that tradeoff is worth it.Manual crank backup for power outages:Every function on the bed has a manual crank backup if the power goes out. Storms, blown fuses, electrical issues — you can still adjust the bed to a safe position. This is a critical safety feature that many cheaper beds don't include.Interchangeable, washable bed ends:The head and foot panels are interchangeable and can be washed with standard water pressure. Easy to keep clean, easy to replace if damaged, and reduces long-term ownership costs. This is why hospitals and long-term care facilities prefer Invacare.Easy tool-free assembly:Bed sections snap together without tools. Our White Glove Delivery team assembles it in your home in about 30 minutes and demos it before we leave — you don't have to figure anything out.KEY FEATURESThe features that change daily care
(every one earns its keep)The Feature What it really means for you 6-button hand pendant controlHead up/down, foot up/down, height up/downEverything the patient or caregiver needs, right at hand. No fumbling with cranks or side controls — just simple, intuitive buttons anyone can use. 9.5" to 20" hi-low adjustmentMotorized floor-to-deck lift rangeLow position makes patient transfers safer (less distance to fall from). High position saves the caregiver's back during bathing, sheet changes, and wound care. This adjustability is the single biggest reason to buy full-electric over semi-electric. Manual crank backupWorks during power outagesIf the power goes out, you're not stuck. Every motorized function has a mechanical override — you can still safely reposition the patient. Cheaper beds skip this and leave you helpless in an outage. Washable, interchangeable bed endsClean with standard water pressureHead and foot panels are washable and swap easily. Long-term homecare gets messy sometimes — this design makes daily hygiene simple and reduces long-term costs. Three-Position swivel assist rails includedFall prevention + transfer handle (works at low bed heights)Rails serve two purposes: they prevent accidental falls, and they give patients a solid handhold for repositioning. Fold down when not needed. Half rails available as a swap option. UL962 & CSA safety certifiedMeets clinical safety standardsSame certifications hospitals require. If you or a loved one is discharged from a hospital and needs a bed at home, this is the same class of equipment they were sleeping in. Color-coded junction boxSimple maintenance and repairAll electrical connections are color-coded so if a cable ever needs replacing or troubleshooting, it's obvious what goes where. Reduces service calls and downtime. ◄ You're viewing thisInvacare 5410 LOW (standard 80" LOW) Sleep surface length 84" (XL) — fits patients up to 6'6" (even 6'7") 80" (standard) — fits patients up to 6'0" Minimum bed height Both drop to 9.5" at their lowest setting — fall injury reduction is a shared feature of both LOW variants What's actually different Only the sleep-deck length differs. Both variants use the same LOW bed ends (9.5" min height), same three-position swivel rails, and same electric functions. This XL version simply has an 84" sleep surface instead of the standard 80" — to fit taller patients without changing anything else. Everything else Both share the same 350 lb patient capacity, same full-electric hand pendant, same manual crank backup, same UL962/CSA certifications, same warranty class, same 9.5"–20" hi-low range, and same Three-Position swivel rails. You're looking at the 5410 LOW XL — the right choice when the patient is tall AND at high fall risk (Alzheimer's, dementia, seizure disorders, or anyone who repeatedly tries to get up unassisted). The 9.5" minimum height dramatically reduces injury severity when falls happen. If the patient is 6'0" or shorter (and still at fall risk), the standard 5410 LOW 80" package is a better fit and typically saves you around $200. If the patient is tall but NOT at fall risk, the 5410IVC XL package may be a better fit (no LOW premium). Both models are also available in an XL 84" configuration — we recommend it for patients 6'1" to 6'6". Under 6'0"? The standard 80" bed is a great fit.

How It Works
Type, Description & Benefits Adjustments Full Electric Hospital Bed: A full electric hospital bed allows complete electric control by a hqnd controller over the head, foot, and height adjustments, making it fully customizable for both the patient and caregiver.
Benefits: Provides the most flexibility and comfort, as all parts of the bed can be adjusted electronically. This is ideal for patients with a variety of medical needs and for caregivers who require ease of use.
-Head Section: Electrically adjustable. Can be elevated or lowered to accommodate different positions, such as sitting up or reclining.
-Foot Section: Electrically adjustable. Can be raised or lowered to support legs or relieve pressure.
-Height: Electrically adjustable. The overall height of the bed can be adjusted, allowing the bed to be raised or lowered for easier access by the patient or caregiver.Semi-Electric Hospital Bed: A semi-electric bed allows for electronic adjustment of the head and foot sections, but the height adjustment is manual (using a crank or lever).
-Benefits: Provides most of the features of a full electric bed but at a more affordable price. It's ideal for patients who need adjustable positioning but where the caregiver prefers to manually adjust the bed height.
-Head Section: Electrically adjustable.
-Foot Section: Electrically adjustable.
-Height: Manually adjusted using a hand crank or lever.
Hi-Low Hospital Bed: Similarly to a full electric hospital bed, a Hi-Low bed refers to a bed that can be raised and lowered at both the head and foot sections, with the entire bed's height adjustable as well with the main that hi-low beds can be lowered just a few inches off the ground (about 10 inches off the ground)
-Benefits: The key feature of Hi-Low beds is the adjustable height, which is helpful for caregivers who need to assist with patient transfers or provide care. The height adjustment allows the bed to be raised to a comfortable level for the caregiver and lowered close to the gorund to make it safer and easier for the patient to enter or exit.
-Head Section: Electrically adjustable. Adjustable for sitting up or reclining.
-Foot Section: Electrically adjustable. Adjustable for leg support.
-Height: Electrically adjustable. The entire bed height can be raised or lowered.
Trendelenburg Hospital Bed: The Trendelenburg position involves tilting the bed so that the patient's head is lowered and the feet are raised. This position is useful in certain medical conditions, such as shock or to improve blood circulation.
-Benefits: The Trendelenburg position can be used in emergency situations, for certain surgeries, or to improve circulation and blood flow. It is commonly found in more specialized hospital settings or ICU units.
-Trendelenburg Position: The entire bed tilts so that the head is lower than the feet, creating a head-down, foot-up position.
-Reverse Trendelenburg: In contrast, the reverse Trendelenburg position involves tilting the bed with the head raised and feet lowered, which can help in conditions like respiratory issues or to relieve pressure on the abdomen.
Bariatric Hospital Beds: Bariatric hospital beds are specialized medical beds designed to accommodate patients who are larger or heavier than those who can fit comfortably in standard hospital beds. These beds are built to provide comfort, safety, and support for individuals with obesity or other weight-related conditions.
-Benefits: A bariatric bed provides numerous benefits, including enhanced patient comfort, improved safety with higher weight capacity, and ease of care for healthcare workers by offering adjustable features and sturdy construction to accommodate larger patients.
-Head Section: Electrically adjustable. Adjustable for sitting up or reclining.
-Foot Section: Electrically adjustable. Adjustable for leg support.
-Height: Electrically adjustable. The entire bed height can be raised or lowered.

Features
Adjustable Head & Foot Sections:Elevate or lower the head and foot areas for comfort, reducing pressure and improving circulation for those who spend a lot of time in bed.
Height Adjustments: Adjustable height for easy access by caregivers, reducing strain on their back and providing safe transfers in and out of bed.
Lockable Wheels for Mobility: Our hospital beds come with lockable wheels that ensure stability when stationary, while still being easy to move when required.
Sturdy Build for Patient Support: The bed frame is designed for durability and supports a wide range of body types and conditions, ensuring comfort and safety.
Side Rails (Optional): For added safety, optional side rails are available to prevent falls and provide extra security for those with mobility concerns.
Extra Long Bed Frame (Optional): An extra-long 84-inch hospital bed is typically designed for taller individuals. The bed frame is 84 inches long (7 feet), which comfortably accommodates individuals who are up to around 6'6" or even 6'7" tall. People taller than this may find it a bit cramped, depending on their body proportions..
