DEVILBISS 1025DS 10 LITER HOME OXYGEN CONCENTRATOR OVERVIEW If you're on this page, you or someone you love has probably just been prescribed a higher flow rate of oxygen maybe your doctor stepped you up from 5 LPM to something above that. Maybe your COPD, pulmonary fibrosis, or post-COVID lung damage has progressed. Maybe you're on CPAP or BiPAP with oxygen bleed-in and need higher pressure. Or maybe you're managing a chronic condition where a 5-liter machine just isn't cutting it anymore. Here's what nobody tells you when your Rx gets increased it doesn't have to mean a bigger, louder, uglier machine. Most 10-liter oxygen concentrators on the market are 5560 pounds, industrial-looking, and take up a huge footprint in your bedroom or living room. The DeVilbiss 1025DS is the exception. It delivers the full 10 LPM of continuous, medical-grade oxygen in the same compact shell as the best-selling DeVilbiss 525DS 5-liter unit just 42 pounds only 6 pounds heavier than the 525DS, with the same 24. 5-inch height and 13. 5-inch footprint. You get double the flow without doubling the machine. What makes this genuinely different the 1025DS delivers at 20 psi outlet pressure vs 8. 5 psi on the 525DS 5L unit, so it's compatible with high-pressure oxygen masks, large-volume nebulizers, CPAP/BiPAP with oxygen bleed-in, and hyperbaric oxygen chamber applications that a 5-liter unit simply can't power. Combined with the higher purity range 8796% vs 8793% on the 525DS and the full 210 LPM flow range, this is genuinely the right tool for patients whose oxygen needs have outgrown a standard 5L concentrator without forcing you into an oversized, industrial machine. What you're really buying isn't a bigger machine. It's the peace of mind that your oxygen therapy can keep up as your needs change. It's knowing your loved one has the flow they need, every breath, day and night. It's a machine that can power the higher-pressure delivery methods your doctor may have prescribed masks, nebulizers, CPAP/BiPAP with bleed-in when a standard 5-liter unit falls short. Backed by DeVilbiss's 3-year manufacturer warranty, the built-in Oxygen Sensing Device OSD that continuously monitors purity, and the Made-in-USA build quality that made the 525DS the best-selling home oxygen concentrator in the country. When you're on high-flow oxygen therapy, reliability isn't optional. The 1025DS inherits the field-proven durability of a machine that has powered millions of patient-hours of home oxygen therapy. HIGH-FLOW OXYGEN THAT FITS INTO YOUR HOME NOT A HOSPITAL ROOM When your oxygen prescription steps up to higher flow rates, most people assume they're stuck with an industrial-sized machine that dominates the room. The 1025DS breaks that assumption. It delivers a full 10 liters per minute of continuous, medical-grade oxygen enough to handle almost any respiratory prescription through a machine that fits on a nightstand-sized footprint. The smooth-rolling casters plus top and side carry handles mean you can reposition it between rooms as easily as the 5-liter unit. The bright, easy-to-read LED indicator panel shows flow rate, power status, and any active alarms at a glance no squinting or guesswork. The lockable pressure-compensated flow meter holds your prescribed setting so no one can accidentally change it. The recessed humidifier bottle nook keeps the bottle protected from bumps and knocks. And the comprehensive alarm system audible visual alerts for high/low pressure, high/low flow, low oxygen, high temperature, and power failure means you and your caregivers always know the therapy is working correctly. A great fit for Your doctor has stepped up your prescription above 5 LPM and you need a higher-capacity concentrator without buying an industrial-sized machine You have advanced COPD, pulmonary fibrosis, ILD, or post-COVID lung damage with high oxygen requirements You're on CPAP or BiPAP with oxygen bleed-in the 20 psi outlet pressure works with high-pressure delivery systems that the 525DS's 8. 5 psi can't You use large-volume nebulizers or need oxygen for high-pressure masks that require more than 5 LPM You have a home hyperbaric oxygen chamber and need a reliable high-flow feed source You're currently using a 525DS 5L unit and your oxygen needs have increased the 1025DS is the natural step-up in the same trusted DeVilbiss platform KEY FEATURES What you'll noticein daily use FeatureWhat it really means for you Continuous flow 2 10 LPMDoubles the output of a 5L unitDelivers a constant stream of medical-grade oxygen through your cannula or high-pressure mask. PrésentationDeVilbiss 1025DS 10 Liter Home Oxygen Concentrator — Highest-Flow Compact Machine, Made in USA, 3-Year Warrantyréférence d’achatDEVILBISS 1025DS 10 LITER HOME OXYGEN CONCENTRATOR OVERVIEW
If you're on this page, you or someone you love has probably just been prescribed a higher flow rate of oxygen — maybe your doctor stepped you up from 5 LPM to something above that.
Here's what nobody tells you when your Rx gets increased: it doesn't have to mean a bigger, louder, uglier machine. Most 10-liter oxygen concentrators on the market are 55–60 pounds, industrial-looking, and take up a huge footprint in your bedroom or living room. The DeVilbiss 1025DS is the exception. It delivers the full 10 LPM of continuous, medical-grade oxygen in the same compact shell as the best-selling DeVilbiss 525DS 5-liter unit — just 42 pounds (only 6 pounds heavier than the 525DS), with the same 24.5-inch height and 13.5-inch footprint. You get double the flow without doubling the machine.
What makes this genuinely different: the 1025DS delivers at 20 psi outlet pressure (vs 8.5 psi on the 525DS 5L unit), so it's compatible with high-pressure oxygen masks, large-volume nebulizers, CPAP/BiPAP with oxygen bleed-in, and hyperbaric oxygen chamber applications that a 5-liter unit simply can't power. Combined with the higher purity range (87–96% vs 87–93% on the 525DS) and the full 2–10 LPM flow range, this is genuinely the right tool for patients whose oxygen needs have outgrown a standard 5L concentrator — without forcing you into an oversized, industrial machine.
What you're really buying isn't a bigger machine. It's the peace of mind that your oxygen therapy can keep up as your needs change. It's knowing your loved one has the flow they need, every breath, day and night. It's a machine that can power the higher-pressure delivery methods your doctor may have prescribed (masks, nebulizers, CPAP/BiPAP with bleed-in) when a standard 5-liter unit falls short. Backed by DeVilbiss's 3-year manufacturer warranty, the built-in Oxygen Sensing Device (OSD) that continuously monitors purity, and the Made-in-USA build quality that made the 525DS the best-selling home oxygen concentrator in the country.

When your oxygen prescription steps up to higher flow rates, most people assume they're stuck with an industrial-sized machine that dominates the room. The 1025DS breaks that assumption. It delivers a full 10 liters per minute of continuous, medical-grade oxygen — enough to handle almost any respiratory prescription — through a machine that fits on a nightstand-sized footprint. The smooth-rolling casters plus top and side carry handles mean you can reposition it between rooms as easily as the 5-liter unit. You'll need cannula/mask and tubing at minimum to actually use the concentrator. See the Accessories section below for options, or call us at (713) 695-4939 and we'll help you assemble the right starter package for your prescription and needs.ESSENTIAL ACCESSORIESWhat you'll need to actually use the concentrator
(call for current pricing)Nasal Cannula (Required for most patients):Two small prongs that deliver oxygen into the nostrils. Available in various lengths (4–25 feet). Should be replaced every 2–4 weeks for hygiene. Most patients on continuous therapy start with a 7-foot cannula for good in-room movement.High-Pressure Oxygen Mask (For high-flow prescriptions):At flow rates above 5 LPM, many patients switch to a partial rebreather or non-rebreather mask instead of nasal cannula. The 1025DS's 20 psi outlet pressure is specifically designed to power these masks — a standard 5L unit cannot. Your doctor will specify which delivery method is appropriate.Extension Tubing:Flexible tubing that connects to your cannula/mask and extends reach. Available in 7, 14, 25, and 50-foot lengths. The 1025DS supports up to 50 feet of extension tubing plus a 7-foot cannula — enough to place the machine in one room and use it comfortably in an adjacent room.Humidifier Bottle (Strongly recommended at high flow):At 10 LPM, humidification is essentially mandatory — dry oxygen at high flow rates causes rapid nasal drying, crusting, and nosebleeds within days. Attaches to the recessed humidifier nook on the 1025DS. Standard humidifier bottle fits.Distilled Water (for Humidifier Bottle):Only distilled water — NEVER tap water. Tap water leaves mineral deposits that clog the humidifier bottle and can contaminate the oxygen stream. Change daily.Pulse Oximeter (Essential for oxygen therapy patients):Small clip-on device for your fingertip that reads your blood oxygen saturation (SpO₂) and heart rate. Absolutely essential for anyone on high-flow oxygen therapy — lets you verify the therapy is achieving your target SpO₂ range and alerts you if levels drop. Under $30 for a reliable fingertip model.Replacement Cabinet Filter:The 1025DS has a washable/replaceable air intake filter. Should be cleaned weekly and replaced periodically. We stock replacements.Call for a starter package quote: Most high-flow oxygen patients need: concentrator + cannulas or masks + 25 ft extension tubing + humidifier bottle + distilled water + pulse oximeter. Call (713) 695-4939 and we'll build the right package for your prescription and home layout.DELIVERY OPTIONSWhite Glove or in-store pickup

Stepping up from a 5L concentrator? We can help you transition. Call us at (713) 695-4939. High-flow oxygen therapy has additional considerations — humidification becomes essential, mask type may change, and if you're using CPAP/BiPAP with oxygen bleed-in there are setup specifics that matter. We help patients transition every week.FAQsCommon questions before ordering
(prescription · accessories · usage · coverage)Do I really need a prescription to buy an oxygen concentrator?Yes — federal law requires a valid prescription from a licensed physician, pulmonologist, or respiratory therapist to purchase any home oxygen concentrator, including the 1025DS. This isn't a bureaucratic hurdle — it's a safety requirement. Oxygen therapy at the wrong flow rate can be dangerous (too low = ineffective; too high = can suppress your breathing drive, especially for COPD patients). Your doctor determines the correct flow rate based on your specific condition, blood oxygen levels, and other factors.
The prescription must specify your flow rate (LPM setting), hours per day of use, and whether oxygen is prescribed for continuous or as-needed use.
How to send us your prescription:
• Fax: Call (713) 695-4939 for our fax line
• Email: Have your doctor's office email us the Rx
• In-store: Bring the paper prescription to our Houston showroom
• Doctor-direct: Ask your doctor's office to fax/call us on your behalf
Don't have a prescription yet? Talk to your doctor first — never use oxygen therapy without medical supervision. Incorrect flow rates can be dangerous. Call us at (713) 695-4939 and we can walk you through the prescription process.Should I get the 10L (1025DS) or the 5L (525DS)?Base the decision on your prescribed flow rate — not on "more is better" thinking. The 10L uses more than 2× the electricity of the 5L (639W vs 310W) and costs more, so there's no reason to size up unless you actually need it.
Get the 1025DS 10L if:
• Your prescription is for flow rates above 5 LPM
• You need high outlet pressure (20 psi) for large-volume nebulizers, high-pressure masks, or CPAP/BiPAP with oxygen bleed-in
• You have a hyperbaric oxygen chamber that needs a high-flow feed
• Your doctor has stepped you up from 5L and expects flow needs to continue increasing
Get the 525DS 5L instead if:
• Your prescription is 5 LPM or below
• You want lower electricity costs (running 24/7, that adds up)
• You don't need high-pressure applications
Not sure? Call (713) 695-4939 with your prescription in hand and we'll help you pick. What high-pressure applications can the 1025DS power that a 5L unit can't?The 1025DS delivers oxygen at 20 psi outlet pressure — more than 2× the 8.5 psi of a standard 5L concentrator like the 525DS. That extra pressure is what makes the 1025DS compatible with:
• High-pressure oxygen masks (partial rebreather, non-rebreather) commonly prescribed for flow rates above 5 LPM
• Large-volume nebulizers that require high oxygen pressure to atomize medication properly
• CPAP or BiPAP with oxygen bleed-in — the 20 psi overcomes CPAP circuit back-pressure reliably; the 525DS often can't
• Hyperbaric oxygen chambers as a high-flow feed source
• Trach collars and high-flow humidified oxygen setups
If your doctor or respiratory therapist has specified any of these delivery methods, a standard 5L unit will not work reliably — you need the 1025DS. If your prescription is for standard nasal cannula delivery at 5 LPM or less, the 525DS 5L is likely a better fit (lower power draw, lower price). Not sure? Call (713) 695-4939.Can I run the 1025DS 24 hours a day, 7 days a week?Yes — the 1025DS is specifically designed for continuous 24/7 operation. Built on the same platform as the 525DS 5L unit (rotary valve tested to 10 million cycles / ~25,000 hours), the 1025DS handles round-the-clock operation at any flow setting. The 3-year warranty covers this use.
At the higher power consumption of the 1025DS (639W average vs 310W for the 525DS), running 24/7 will add roughly $45–$70 per month to your electricity bill depending on local rates. That's a real ongoing cost worth budgeting for. The upside: it's still dramatically cheaper than paying for delivered liquid oxygen at the flow rates the 1025DS is designed for.
Clean the intake filter weekly — that's the main maintenance for round-the-clock operation. What happens if the power goes out?The 1025DS is not battery-powered — it plugs into a standard 120V outlet. If the power goes out, the concentrator stops producing oxygen and the power failure alarm sounds so you know immediately. For patients on high-flow oxygen (5+ LPM), a backup plan isn't optional — it's essential. Options :
• Register with your utility as a medically dependent customer — most electric utilities offer priority restoration during outages, and some provide free backup generators
• Notify your local fire department — many keep records of oxygen-dependent residents for emergency response
• Backup generator — a whole-house or portable generator (properly sized for 639W+ startup surge) keeps the concentrator running through extended outages
• Portable oxygen concentrator (POC) for temporary high-mobility backup (limited to lower flow rates)
Call (713) 695-4939 to discuss backup oxygen options for your specific flow rate and situation.Do I need a humidifier bottle at these high flow rates? At 10 LPM, humidification is essentially mandatory — not optional. Here's why:
Dry oxygen at high flow rates rapidly dries out nasal passages, causing:
• Nasal crusting and congestion within hours
• Nosebleeds (sometimes severe) within days
• Chronic sinus irritation and infection risk
• Sore throat and dry cough
The 1025DS has a recessed humidifier bottle nook designed for a standard humidifier bottle. Only use distilled water — never tap water. Tap water leaves mineral deposits that clog the bottle, and worse, can contaminate the oxygen stream you're breathing. Change the water daily and clean the bottle weekly with mild soap and warm water.
If you're currently on a 525DS 5L unit without a humidifier and stepping up to the 1025DS at higher flow, add a humidifier bottle right away — don't wait for symptoms. Is the 1025DS covered by Medicare or insurance?Yes. Home oxygen therapy is a covered benefit under Medicare Part B with proper documentation — the 1025DS carries HCPCS code E1390 (Oxygen concentrator, single delivery port, capable of delivering ≥85% oxygen). Coverage requirements include:
• Doctor's prescription specifying flow rate and hours per day
• Blood oxygen test results (arterial blood gas or overnight pulse oximetry) documenting SpO₂ ≤88% or PaO₂ ≤55 mmHg on room air (or specific criteria for higher-flow prescriptions)
• Diagnosis supporting long-term oxygen therapy — for the 1025DS specifically, documentation of medical necessity for flow rates above 5 LPM
Some insurance plans require additional documentation for high-flow (>5 LPM) prescriptions. Coverage typically runs 80% (Medicare Part B), with the remaining 20% subject to your deductible and any secondary insurance. Medicaid and most private insurers also cover high-flow oxygen therapy. Call (713) 695-4939 and we'll help you understand what your specific plan requires and how to submit documentation for the 10L unit. Can I use the 1025DS with my CPAP or BiPAP?Yes — the 1025DS is well-suited for CPAP/BiPAP with oxygen bleed-in. Its 20 psi outlet pressure is more than sufficient to overcome the back-pressure of most CPAP/BiPAP circuits. The 525DS 5L unit's 8.5 psi is often insufficient for reliable bleed-in setups.
You'll need an oxygen bleed-in adapter (a small T-connector that inserts into your CPAP tubing between the machine and the mask, with a nipple for oxygen tubing). These are available separately.
Important: The flow rate of oxygen delivered via CPAP bleed-in is different from what a patient would receive via nasal cannula, because the CPAP airflow dilutes it. Your sleep specialist or pulmonologist should specify the exact bleed-in flow rate — don't guess. If you're transitioning from cannula-only oxygen to CPAP + oxygen (or vice versa), your prescription may need to change. Call us at (713) 695-4939 for setup guidance. What accessories do I need before I can actually use it?At minimum, you need:
• Delivery device — nasal cannula (for lower flow rates within the 2–10 LPM range) or high-pressure oxygen mask (typically prescribed for flow rates ≥5 LPM)
• Extension tubing — to reach from the concentrator to where you sit/sleep (7–50 ft depending on layout)
• Humidifier bottle + distilled water — essentially mandatory at high flow rates (see FAQ above)
Strongly recommended additions:
• Pulse oximeter — essential for anyone on high-flow oxygen therapy
• Spare cannulas or masks — replace every 2–4 weeks for hygiene
• Backup power plan — for outages (see power outage FAQ above)
Optional but valuable:
• CPAP/BiPAP bleed-in adapter — if applicable to your therapy
Call (713) 695-4939 and we'll build a starter package based on your prescription, delivery method, and home layout. How do I know it's actually working correctly?Three ways to verify the 1025DS is working correctly:
• OSD (Oxygen Sensing Device) — built into the concentrator, continuously monitors purity. If oxygen output drops below safe levels, an audible and visual alarm sounds. No alarms = you're getting proper concentration.
• Pulse oximeter — clip on your finger, read your SpO₂ (blood oxygen saturation) and heart rate. Your doctor will tell you your target range. If your SpO₂ is in range on your prescribed flow rate, the therapy is working.
• How you feel — within days of properly-prescribed high-flow oxygen therapy, patients typically report improved energy, less shortness of breath, better sleep, clearer thinking, and better ability to complete daily activities. If you don't feel better after the first week, talk to your doctor — flow rate may need adjustment.
Also do the basics: keep the intake filter clean (rinse weekly), verify the flow meter shows your prescribed setting, check the humidifier bottle water is fresh, and inspect the cannula or mask for kinks or damage.Ready to get set up?
Call (713) 695-4939. We'll help you submit your prescription, verify the 10L is the right fit (vs the 5L), choose the right delivery method and accessories, arrange delivery or pickup, and answer any questions about high-flow oxygen therapy. Whether you're stepping up from a 5L unit or this is your first concentrator, we help patients through this every day. What’s Included In the box with your order

Whether you're stepping up from a 5L unit or this is your first concentrator, we help patients through this every day.Questions fréquentes
