This listing is for the shoulder pad only — the anatomically-shaped wrap that goes over your shoulder. The pad requires the Polar Care Cube motorized cold compression unit to function. The unit is what circulates chilled water through the pad; without it, the pad is just an unfilled wrap.
Why does Breg sell them separately? Because the same Polar Care Cube unit works with different joint-specific pads (shoulder, knee, ankle, hip, back). Patients often need cold therapy for different joints over time — buying pads separately means you can add a knee pad later without buying a whole new system.

Do NOT order this pad expecting to use it standalone — you'll be frustrated.Will this pad fit my shoulder?This pad fits shoulder circumference 14" – 18" (36 – 46 cm) AND bicep circumference 10" – 14" (25 – 36 cm). Both measurements need to fall in range.
To measure shoulder circumference: Wrap a soft measuring tape around your chest and upper back at armpit level, with arms relaxed at your sides. This is the standard "shoulder circumference" used for orthopedic braces.
To measure bicep circumference: Wrap the tape around the widest part of your bicep with your arm relaxed at your side (not flexed).
If you're measuring after shoulder surgery — your shoulder and upper arm are likely significantly swollen. Consider both your current measurement and your typical measurement. Swelling typically decreases substantially over the first 2–4 weeks post-op.
